One of the most enjoyable parts of Amsterdam to stroll through is an area called De Negen Straatjes (The Nine Streets). Crossing a several canals and covering nine streets (obviously) this area is home to many small shops, bars/cafes, and is very gezellig (cozy, as they say in Dutch). Sometimes we need to remember to look up.
This picture captures the quaintness of the neighborhood: the string lights across the street and the traditional architecture…you can almost hear the rattling of bicycles as they go by and ring their bell, with the raucous conversations of people as they head home from the cafes.
